Who says you can’t wear a dress in colder weather ?
When fall is ushered in and the temperature drops my must wear items skyrockets. As a girl who’s in love with the Fashion of cooler temperatures the opportunity to wear classic pieces is exciting. Which is why I am gushing today on a slight spin on a forever trend , the mock neck dress.
In the 90’s a black mock neck mini dress was all the rage. The contrast of a modest neckline that was still fitted and legginess of the baby doll look helped to solidify this trend as a long time favorite of mine.
Although black and short mock dresses are never going out of style but I am absolutely in love with a printed or patterned version in a midi dress style like this one I grabbed from Boohoo. The length and bodycon fit of this dress makes for a both conservative yet still sultry look.
— not to mention warm, because this Atlanta weather is outrageous. I would swear I’m still in New Jersey some days with how old it has been . Anyway —
Letting the stripes ( and the hips ) be the star of this look , I wore my ‘ goes with anything’ leather jacket and booties with one of my favorite new hats . My fall wardrobe is so varied I can’t say I have just one fall uniform but a dress with a moto jacket and booties is definitely a street style look I will have on repeat . It’s a pretty badass IMO.
Don’t you think?
The great thing about a dress like this is that you can pair for it with a cute pair of sneakers, flat, heel booties like the ones I’m wearing for this look. A piece that is versatile like that is going to give you the most bang for your buck and challenge you to get creative with different ways to style the look .
And I’m all for versatility. Especially since the fall is the busiest time of year for me. Looks like these are perfect for days where I have meetings, Aarons tonight, or meeting up with friends.
It’s a look to love. Now I just need about 10 more of these and I’m set for the season, right ?
How do you feel about the mock neck dress trend? Is it a fall SLAY or NAY?
