Spring Skincare x Neutrogena Hydro Boost

This post is sponsored by Neutrogena. All opinions are mine and from my personal experience. Thank you for supporting the brands that keep us going !

There are two things that can contribute a bad day for me.

  •  A lack of caffeine… ugh…
  • Dry and dull skin.

For number 1… thank goodness there are coffee shops in every block here in Atlanta  . But for the dry skin …that’s a bit trickier.

With the ever changing and unpredictable nature of the weather, my changing sleep schedule, and fluctuating diet… my skin can really act up sometimes. And at its worst it can be really dry and sensitive…. If you have ever had dry skin you know this is an uncomfortable experience – not to mention can put a damper on your mood and confidence for the day. There is nothing like that feeling when your skin is glowing and thriving. I swear when my skin is on point I feel like a goddess, with or without makeup. Catching that natural glow is the best feeling and your skin thrives when it’s moisturized,

At the end of the day, being dehydrated affects the body, the mind, and the skin.

And that glow will go if you don’t take care If it with SOME SOURCE of moisturizer.

Lately, skin care has been at the top of my priority list. I want to learn what works for me and how to improve the health of my skin. Specifically for my skin I have taken a huge interest in systems that work to improve the health of your skin. So when I had the opportunity to review the Neutrogena Hydro Boost line, you can only imagine my excitement.  While trying out these 5 products in different combinations I was pleasantly surprised with how mild it was on my sensitive skin. Packed with hyaluronic acid, this ingredients is the moisture gift that keeps on giving by locking in moisture then slowly releasing it into your skin throughout the day.

Water Gel

This gel is a moisture booster. Its light and soaks in so quickly. I noticed this was great under my makeup with my primer. I tend to get greasy throughout the day and I seemed to stay more balanced but did not feel dry. On my makeup free days I paired this with the Multivitamin booster for a little extra moisture and glow. I did however use this in addition to another moisturizer after day three as I was feeling a bit dry after a full day of work.

Exfoliating Cleanser

I like that this product is not too abrasive. My skin is prone to easy irritation if a product is too harsh and I am happy to report that was not that case with this product. However, be aware that this exfoliator can make your skin sensitive to the sun. So use a heavier SPF the week after to protect yourself from sun damage.

Gentle Cleansing Lotion

Kind of a like a moisturizer and cleanser in one. A great way to remove light makeup or clean your face after a workout, the lotions is the stronger sibling between two cleansers, lotion versus gel. I would use this for your moderate coverage day to remove your make up and choose a makeup remover for full face coverage days followed by your cleanser.

Cleansing Gel

This seems like a lighter version of the cleansing lotion. It does a good job of removing dirt in a gentle way. I like to use this on days I don’t wear any make up or very light makeup so I am not using anything to harsh to clean my face. Both products do leave you feel more hydrated after you rinse it off, so really it’s a matter of what I used on my face that day which one I use

Multivitamin Booster

This is my favorite product in thus line, both in aesthetic and in function. Okay first up function… because it doesn’t matter how cute a product is… what matters is, does it work? My answer… Yes.

I really love the light weight formula. It does not leave an oily or sticky reside and you can feel booster melt into your face which really makes you feel like your skin is soaking up all the product leaving you with a smooth and soft face.

Overall, I have to say I am really impressed with the Moisture Boost Line from Neutrogena. The collection is a great way to boost that glow as you transition into spring and go a bit more lightweight with your makeup or go for it and go bare! And since it is warming up soon (fingers crossed) you may want to go for a lighter oil free moisturizer like the gel or multivitamin booster

I also tried these products with Mario (my boyfriend) and he even noticed his face felt more moisturized, he is super low maintenance with his routine so finding a product that he notices and likes is rare. He is my second opinion on a bunch of products I try. – If you don’t mask and moisturize with your significant other, you should try it! It’s a really fun way to connect at home.
