Lately I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about date night. My boyfriend Mario was out of town for almost 3 weeks last month.
Dress : Mandee | Shoes : DressUp
Yes! I said three whole lonely weeks. Let’s just say I had major #baewithdrawal. As healthy as it is for people to have time alone and to feel comfortable being away from each other it really made me appreciate the time we do spend together.. while he was gone I really had a chance to let my imagination soar and came up with some really exciting activities that we could do together as a couple.
This got me to thinking… How often do people make date night a priority in their relationship? Especially those couples like us, who live together.
Living with a significant other, it can be easy to slip into the routine of staying in a little trouble together. The Netflix and chill night can easily turn into an every night ritual, if you let it. After over seven years together Mario and I have done a lot of exciting things together but having designated date night was not one of them.
With that in mind I am determined to bring back the date night for the rest of 2018 and every year after.
It’s really important to take time for your relationship and treat it like a priority if you want it to last. Remember bring back date night is about creating a routine and with love is a priority. As with all things in life you get what you put into it. With all of your responsibilities to do lists and gold easy to get caught up in your own routine and just become roommates living on auto pilot.
This post is my first of this new series named bring back date night. This is a movement to encourage couples and individuals to create moments and memories that last with people they care about. It’s nice to dress up, step out, and spent intentional time together. Taking time to create memories in a relationship is just as important as any other part of keeping a relationship alive. So I’m embarking on a new series and journey bringing you day and night inspiration, tips and ideas to help you out a little bit of magic into your relationship.
Kicking it off with a simple night for two, we headed to Amorino Gelato at The Shops of Buckhead for a little sweet treat. Nothing is better than one on one time – whether it is a small moment like trying a new flavor together or taking a trip to other side of the world.
I had the chance to visit Amorino for the first time right before Valentine’s Day and ever since knew it was a perfect place to bring Mario. He has a major sweet tooth and the creamy and various flavors available are right up his alley. During my first visit, I was blown away with how good this gelato was. Beautifully shaped like a flower and adorned with a macron and chocolate heart … I was LITERALLY in love.
I barely made it through this shoot because I couldn’t stop eating it …. As delicious as it is beautiful.
Mario and I both settled on raspberry being both of our favorite flavors so far…. But there are so many to try that we will just to go back again to be sure! I really just enjoyed the atmosphere of the small café style location; it’s the perfect spot for tea and a pastry and maybe even a book. We both agreed that our date nights were kicked off to a great start. A night filled with laughter,, good conversation, and love is only made sweeter with a bit of gelato.
