Animal Instincts

Have you ever loved a trend so much you didn’t care whether or not it was in style or not ?

Yeah , that’s pretty much how I feel about animal print!  Maybe it’s because I’m from New Jersey, maybe because it brings out the animal instinct in me, but there’s something about a good animal print that makes me feel so fierce. It’s not my first time sharing my love of animal print , I had a love affair with cheetah print that I shared in this post.

Fortunately for me and for the rest of the fashion community, animal print made a big comeback this year especially for fall and winter. New York fashion week boasted lots of animal prints in preparation for next years resortwear but it’s also a fun print to wear for winter and fall.

I did not have to go out scrambling for the latest piece of animal print attire because lo and behold I had quite a few selections in my closet already. Like I said you can count on the Jersey girl to have some animal print on hand.

This apt9 top is actually a tunic dress that was just the perfect going to wear with a pair of jeans. Pairing longer tops or dresses that are super short with jeans or leggings and boots for the fall is a great way to transition your wardrobe. I like to play with highs and lows, and did so by adding a military cropped jacket to give a little bit of shape to my figure in a shapeless dress like this.

Animal print is a great way to spice up an all black look giving it a big pop of visual interest but still keeping a classy and not overdone look. Don’t give me wrong I am a girl for an all leopard outfit but in case you wanted to tone it down, you can choose one statement printed piece and Pair with neutrals, solids or a black item.

If you decide to go big and bold go ahead and put on that for leopard print coat, dress, or pull out an awesome pair of leopard booties and show off the wild thing inside of you. You can even pair prints if you’re feeling adventurous.

What do you think of the resurgence of animal print ? Are you wearing it or giving it a hard pass ?
